TRAVEL & ADVENTURE
HIKING - TRAMPING - TREKKING
in Tongariro National Park
Short and day walks

Lower Tama Lake and the northern side of Ruapehu.
"Tongariro National park offers a superb range of shorter walks, many of them easy and some more difficult. On those that lead into exposed alpine areas walkers should be properly equipped for sudden and harsh weather changes. Winter conditions can also make many of Tongariro's tracks unsuitable for most walkers. If in doubt ask park staff. The nature of Tongariro's tramping routes also makes many parts of them suitable for day trips..." Quoted from A Tramper's Guide to New Zealand's National Parks.
