Fall Muster - The Annual Muster on Mount Nicholas Station, by Philip Holden, is the account of two weeks spent with the musterers of Mt Nicholas station in their annual race against time and the first snowfall. The other books of Philip Holden, Station Country I, II and III, also provide a lot of well illustrated information about the work on high country stations.

Peter Newton's books, although less recent and with black and white photographs, are also valuable references. They provide much detailed and interesting information, either from the author's personal work experience (The World of Peter Newton - The Best of his High Country Writing), or collected during his many visits to stations throughout the country.
