SCIENCE AND RESEARCH

"The Department of Conservation (DOC) has its own scientists who work around the country studying different areas of DOC's work, such as threatened species, pests and predators, historic restoration and recreation.

DOC also works closely with other science providers like universities and Crown Research Institutes, both in New Zealand and overseas, and contracts out scientific research.

DOC publishes a wide range of documents on the work it does, from scientific notes and species recovery plans to management plans and annual reports." References below
