"The Department of Conservation (DOC)
has its own scientists who work around the country studying
different areas of DOC's work, such as
threatened species, pests and predators,
historic restoration and recreation.
DOC also works closely with other science
providers like universities and
Crown Research Institutes, both
in New Zealand and overseas, and contracts out scientific research.
DOC publishes a wide range of documents
on the work it does, from scientific notes and species recovery
plans to management plans and annual reports." References
